We believe in complete transparency around our chosen practices. We choose to openly define what sustainability means to us because at this point in time sustainability is often loosely (or not at all) defined by companies as a marketing strategy that has no tangible meaning.
Part of our commitment to minimising waste is our refillery option in the salon. We buy our products in bulk which are available by the gram to reduce the overall waste generated through hair care consumption.
We encourage you to bring in empty containers and have them filled. This is not only a great waste reduction initiative, but it enables you to try smaller amounts of products and testing them yourself before committing to larger quantities. Never feel the need to sell your second hand products again or waste products that end up not working for you.
As an inclusive business we understand that representation matters, and we do our best to walk the walk. We do our best to represent BIPOC owned businesses, because we are aware how difficult navigating the business world can be, especially as BIPOC individuals.
Greenwashing is a term that describes the use of ethical and environmental green practices as a marketing tool without addressing the underlying issues, or participating real and meaningful change.
At The Curly Bar our intention is to practice as environmentally sustainable as possible. We are transparent about communicating what goes into products, and aim to operate as waste free as we possibly can.
